Classification And Use Of Alumina Ceramic Materials

Classification and use of alumina ceramic materials

The grade and type of alumina ceramic is determined by the percentage of alumina contained in the material, which can vary from 70% to 99.9%. The percentage of alumina fluctuates depending on the amount of other elements added to the mixture. Below are the types of 92%-99.9% alumina ceramic materials available from our Pintejin ceramic technicians.

92% Alumina:

92% alumina ceramic has electrical properties, mechanical strength, wear resistance, chemical and corrosion resistance, thermal stability, dense and non-porous. It is used in electrical packaging, bushings, abrasive media, wear parts and industrial applications.

94% Alumina:

94% alumina ceramic has low thermal expansion, high volume resistivity, wear resistance, grease resistance, dielectric constant, and a manganese metal coating that accepts high temperature brazing. It can be used as pressure sensor, bearing coating, valve and laser components.

95% Alumina:

95% alumina ceramics have similar properties to 94% alumina ceramics, with increased compressive and flexural strength content and excellent hermeticity. This percentage of alumina ceramic can be molded into ordnance armor for military applications.

96% Alumina:

96% alumina for medical applications. It has a combination of mechanical, electrical, thermal and chemical properties. The combination of these properties makes them suitable for wear-resistant nozzles, wear-resistant guides, blood valves, electrical connector housings and other industrial applications.

97% Alumina:

97% alumina can be a metallic coating for high temperature brazed assemblies, used as an electrical insulator. It can be used for insulation of high vacuum systems, laser equipment, X-ray tubes, electron microscopes, microwave windows and medical equipment.

97.5% Alumina:

97.5% Alumina is a high-quality, fine-grained alumina used in electrical and mechanical parts that require a thick metal coating and require abrasive and chemical resistance. It can be used with metal-coated components such as conductor and resistor networks, as well as dielectric layers. This percentage of alumina can be used in the defense industry, medicine and scientific research.

97.6 Alumina:

97.6% alumina is an essential component of components that require operational stability and reliability. It is electrically and dimensionally stable over a wide range of temperatures. It is used in laser components, motorized optics, flow measurement, sensors and X-ray equipment.

98.6% Alumina:

98.6% Alumina is a lightweight alumina that can be used as armor for military vehicles and structures. It stops small gunfire and medium caliber artillery.

99% Alumina:

99% alumina is very hard and is used as a component in rotary and reciprocating pumps for handling chemicals. Shafts, bearings, thrust washers, plungers and counter seals all use 99% alumina ceramic material on pumps that handle chemicals.

99.5% Alumina:

99.5% alumina is a very pure form of alumina used in semiconductors, semiconductor chambers and fixtures. It has low particle generation and a tight vacuum.

99.7% Alumina:

99.7% alumina has a reflectivity efficiency of 98% at 1064 nanometers (NM) and 96% reflectivity for wavelengths from 500 to 2000nm, making it suitable for laser reflectors. It can be used for pump lamp lamps and continuous wave lasers.

99.8% Alumina:

99.8% alumina is very high purity and has been developed for semiconductors. It has excellent chemical and plasmonic resistance with dielectric properties for high voltage applications. It can be used in semiconductor applications including PVD, CVD and CMP oxide etching, ion implantation and lithography. This percentage of alumina is widely used in the semiconductor industry.

99.9% Alumina:

99.9% alumina is ultra-pure alumina used in critical applications such as plasma etched components and nuclear grade insulator components. The properties of 99.9% alumina can be seen in the table below.

The above are some general data. We Pintejin Ceramics are committed to creating excellent alumina ceramic products.
